YOURSSID is the network name and PASSWORD is the network password.

Type the following: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=”” key=”” and, press Enter.

Open the command prompt as Administrator.

Select Sharing and check the box next to “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection.”.

Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.

Navigate to Control Panel > Network Connections.

If you use Windows 8, you can still create a Wi-Fi hotspot, but it takes a little more configuring. You should now be able to access the internet using your laptop as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Type the network password on the other device, which is also listed on the “Share my internet connection” window.

The network name is listed in the “Share my internet connection” window.

Join the network created by your laptop.

Turn on the Wi-Fi on the other device and search for networks.

Toggle Share my Internet connection with other devices to on.

Select Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot from the left menu.
